May 24 Mitchell Powell Joins H.J. Russell & Company as New Chief Financial Officer
ATLANTA (May 22, 2017) – H.J. Russell & Company announces the hiring of Mitchell Powell as the new Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Powell is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling matters of the company’s financial functions. This will include budgeting, accounting, financing, forecasting, strategic planning, compliance, reporting, and more. Powell will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Michael Russell and join the other members on the senior leadership team.

Prior to joining H.J. Russell & Company, Powell served for more than 10 years as the CFO at The Integral Group, LLC in Atlanta and as the Vice President of Asset Management at Rockwood Capital Corporation in San Francisco. He is a Board member and Treasurer of the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council and has served as a panelist at the Chief Financial Officer Conference in New York discussing the implementation of financial technology.

Originally from Tampa, Fla., Powell graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and went on to achieve his Master of Science degree in real estate from New York University. Powell is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
