H. J. Russell & Company Promotes Michael Swick to Senior Vice President of its Construction Group

ATLANTA (March 25, 2025) – H. J. Russell & Company (Russell) announces the promotion of Michael Swick from Vice President of Operations for its construction group to the group’s Senior Vice President. In his new role, he will be accountable for the overall leadership and growth of Russell’s construction group throughout the existing and emerging offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, and Tampa. Swick will be charged with executing the H. J. Russell & Company North Star vision to achieve $1B in annual revenue by 2029. Swick reports directly to Chief Executive Officer, Michael B. Russell, and will continue serving on the company’s executive leadership team. Swick has more than 25 years of construction experience serving a variety of industries, including hospitality, multifamily, office, industrial, public works, athletic facilities, and retail throughout the United States.

Since joining Russell in 2019, Swick has been instrumental in expanding the construction group from 19 to 125 members, demonstrating his unparalleled ability to build teams and leaders. His dedication to setting up systems and procedures has been matched only by his passion for developing people, which he considers to be the cornerstone of his success.

Before joining Russell, Swick worked as Director of Sustainability and as Senior Project Manager for Choate, a $1B Atlanta-based commercial construction firm. Originally from Massachusetts, Swick graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in construction management. He also attended Boston University, where he studied mechanical engineering. Swick is a LEED accredited professional and previously served as the president of the U.S. Green Building Council of Georgia. In 2011, he was recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of the Southeast’s Top 20 Under 40.
