The Fulton County Board of Commissioners desired a significant renovation to their Assembly Hall Auditorium. The renovation included improved lighting, the installation of new carpeting, acoustical wall paneling, and railings. The space will also house 300 new moveable seats with tablet arms and aisle lighting. There is also accessible wheelchair and companion seating, as well as AV technology enhancements that will enable closed captioning. The improvement to all audio-visual components, including video conferencing capabilities, will be an overall technology renovation, which will help with meeting management.

It was very important to the county to meet the requested construction schedule to accommodate the Board’s active meeting schedule for 2021. To implement a level of efficiency, a scaffold was constructed across the entire assembly hall to complete the above ceiling work. Our Team also made accommodations for our trench work to be completed congruently. This involved digging a trench that was 76’x 2’ 1/2”x 4’ deep, created to install the electrical and low voltage cables for the existing millwork and, also for the new communications closet.

Safety was an essential part of this public project. Since this was an active-use site, special provisions were made to prevent Fulton County staff, as well as our construction team from inhaling any of the dust into their lungs, which could create silica. It was important we were successful not only in completing this scope of work, but also while keeping everyone safe.

The project is the first major renovation since the doors first opened over 20 years ago.
